diy Tutorial: Tissue Paper Garland

I am sure you have noticed the latest party craze for tissue paper garlands.  They are incredibly eye catching and add the perfect eye candy for any event.  I have wanted to know how these are made and I found the perfect tutorial on Ruffled Blog that I wanted to share with you. The great thing about these garlands is that they are incredibly easy to make, affordable and can be made using any color combination.

What you'll need:
 - Jute twine
- Scotch tape
- Scissors
- Tissue paper (choose as many different colors as you wish)
- foil garland cut into 6-10" sections (found at party supply stores)

Step 1:
Cut tissue paper into strips, leaving space at the top to keep together.

Step 2:
Twist paper together at the completed section at the top, careful not to fold the cuts of hanging paper.

Step 3:
Tape twist-top together and cover with jute twine, making a loop so as to string when complete.

Step 4:
Repeat steps 1-3 for other tissue paper colors, and for the fringed garland.

Step 5:
String together tissue and fringe garland, cut sections into different lengths if desired.

Step 6:
You are ready to hang your fabulous creation!

Perfect for weddings, birthdays, baby showers and more!

{Tutorial} Tissue Wrapped Flower Favors

I want to share with you how I created flower favors made from tissue paper.  They were super easy to make and they turned out beautifully. They would be the perfect favors for weddings, baby showers, bridal luncheons and more.  The tissue wrapped flowers would add a fabulous touch to any table!

What you'll need:

Tissue paper in an assortment of colors
Mini bubble bottles or similar
clear tape
scissors
ribbon

1. For the inner layer of your flower, take a piece of tissue paper and fold in half.

  1. 2. Then fold accordion style following the pre-made lines.

3. Cut paper horizontally in the middle so that you will now have two squares of tissue paper.

4. Take one of the squares and create petal shapes by cutting rounded edges at the top of your square.

5. Unfold your tissue paper and lay on a flat surface.
Place a bubble bottle on the edge of the tissue paper with the bottom about 1/2 inch from the straight edge.

6. Place a piece of tape to keep paper in place.  Fold in the tissue paper on the bottom as though wrapping a gift and add tape to secure.

7. Repeat steps 4 - 6 with the tissue paper that will be the outside of your flower.

8.  Add a piece of ribbon and tie around the neck of the bubble bottle.

9.  Gently pull the tissue layers down to open your flower.

Voila!
