Paper Source - How I Love Thee

Last year for my birthday, my husband planned a trip for us to San Francisco.  One of the places that I couldn't wait to go visit was a store called Paper Source.  You can see my visit HERE.  If you love all things paper, you will LOVE Paper Source.  It is a unique retailer filled with specialty paper, custom invitations, gift wrap, craft supplies and so many other products to inspire creativity!

I have wished and wished that Paper Source would open a location in Austin, TX.  My wish came true recently and one of their newest stores is just minutes from my home.  I was ecstatic to say the least when I heard the news! 

On Friday when both of my girls were in school (a rare occasion for a Friday), I had the afternoon to myself and decided to make the awaited trip to the new Paper Source store.  I think when you see my pictures, you can see why one could easily fall in love with all of their pretty products and find inspiration in every inch of their stores.

(Tutorial) Cupcake Liner Flowers

I made flowers from cupcake liners for the All You Need is Love collection that I styled.  They were the perfect addition to the table decor.  Wanted to share a tutorial with you on how to make them.  They are really easy to create and make for a fun and lasting flower arrangement.

Materials:

cupcake liners (6 per flower)

 hole punch

ribbon

colored card stock

scissors

pencil

lollipops

2 inch paper punch (click HERE to purchase)

Fold 6 liners in half

Hole punch 4 of the liners 1/4 of an inch from the fold.

Hole punch the remaining two liners on the fold and then lay out flat.

Use your paper punch to punch a scallop circle in the card stock.

Use a pencil to poke a hole in the middle of the scallop circle.

 Place four folded papers onto lollipop stick, overlapping 1/4 of the baking cup each time a liner is added. Then add the two remaining flat liners.

 

 Using your scissors, cut ribbon to desired length.  Tie ribbon under the liners to keep them in place.

Enjoy your new bouquet year round!

{Tutorial} Homemade Crayons

This year instead of filling Valentine goodie bags with just sweets, I am also going to be adding heart shaped crayons for the girls' to give to their friends at school. This is a very easy and simple project to do. It is a fun craft project to do with your little ones as well.

 

Use old, broken or new crayons!

Remove paper and break crayons into small pieces. Place broken crayons in a muffin tin.  If not using silicone trays, I suggest spraying the tins with a little vegetable spray.



Place tin in oven at 275 degrees F for about 7 minutes or until melted.  The crayons do melt fast!

When melted, carefully remove from the oven.  Let them cool completely (can be placed in the freezer to speed up process once the tin is not so hot.)

Once cool, the crayons can be popped out of the muffin tin.  Then get the paper out and you are ready to color or use your new crayons as party favors!
