Free Valentine's Day Printable: You Are The Colors In My Rainbow

This week in our home, we are busy decorating our shoe boxes for Valentine Parties as well as getting our Valentines ready for our school friends.  My kiddos wanted something they could give their friends that was gender neutral.  I put together this sweet and colorful Valentine that is easy to put together.  Simply print, cut and use a piece of colorful washi tape to adhere your lollipop to the Valentine.

Free 2015 Printable Calendar

Happy New Year Friends! 

It's never too late to get organized right?  If you are like me, you still have some holiday decorations lingering around the house waiting to be packed away for next year.  As of this morning, we still had a Christmas tree up.  The next step is to start getting organized for 2015.  And with that comes a new calendar for the year.  This year I wanted to keep the color palette simple using a monochromatic color scheme adding tiny pops of fresh color.  I included lots of fun patterns for this year's look.  And the exciting news is that the calendar is being offered as a FREE PRINTABLE for our readers.  Yay!  I would love for you to share a picture of your new calendar tagging us at #annaandblue

Free Printable Happy Birthday Gift Tags in 5 Colors

Happy Friday friends!  

I had an amazing birthday and feel so blessed with all of the birthday wishes that I received.  My hubby and sweet girls definitely made me feel spoiled and incredibly loved.  Today, I am sharing the love with our newest free printable.  I created simple Happy Birthday gift tags in five different colors that will add the perfect touch for a birthday gift.  I hope you like them.

We're Back! Free Printable Enjoy Today Art Print

Hello friends! 

It seems like forever since my last post.  A lot has happened.  Long story short, my mom became ill in January of this year and was hospitalized.  She was doing better but then had to be readmitted in June and spent over three months in the hospital.  I am thankful that I was able to make trips home to Houston every week with my girls over the summer since they were out of school for summer break.  Having them home with me was much needed as they were a good distraction with everything that was going on.  Now, that we are in full swing with the new school year, getting home to Houston is not as easy. When the girls are at school, thinking about my mom consumes my day.  I think getting back to blogging will be good for me as it will keep me busy.  Thank you to everyone who checked in to see if everything is alright.  Your sweet words mean more than you know.  I look forward to slowly start blogging again bringing new designs, tutorials and inspiration you way.

Last Day of School Photo Op - Free Printables

In less than 2 weeks my little girls will be celebrating their last day of Kindergarten and Second Grade.  Where did the school year go? Remember the free printable signs we created for the first day of school?  We received so many requests to create a design for the last day of school. I thought it was a great idea and would make a wonderful memento.  Every year we will take a photo on the first day of school and on the last day of school and see how much they have grown in one school year.  I created signs from Preschool through 12th grade.  Please share pictures of your kiddos holding their sign!  Tag us at #annaandblue

DIY Tutorial: Tiered Stand + Free Printables

Hello Friends!
Today, I am sharing an easy tutorial on how to create a tiered stand that can not only hold desserts but can also be an organizational stand for all of the little things that might be cluttering your office desk.  With just a few inexpensive materials, you will have a Pottery Barn worthy tiered stand in no time at all.

The DIY Tiered stand is so easy to make and incredibly inexpensive.  It's perfect for displaying holiday decor and sweets.  The stand would also be an excellent piece to keep craft supplies organized and would add a pretty touch to any office or craft room.

Tiered Stand - a DIY Tutorial

Supplies:

• 3 Wooden Nesting Trays
• Spindles or Candle Sticks (I used metal candle sticks that unscrewed to create different lengths)
• Spray Paint
• Fine Grain Sand Paper
• All-Purpose Glue
• Optional - knobs and/or dowel feet

Step 1:
Spray paint all of your materials that will be used for the tiered stand i.e. trays, candlesticks etc.  I recommend at least two coats of spray paint.  Allow to fully dry.

Step 2:
Using your fine grain sand paper, gently sand over any rough patches on your trays until smooth.  To achieve a distressed look, simply sand until some of the natural color of the wood comes through.

Step 3:
If adding legs to your tray, squeeze glue onto the bottom of one of your dowels and place onto the bottom side of your largest tray.  Repeat this step for each dowel leg that you would like to add to your tray.  Set aside to dry.  Once dry, squeeze glue to the bottom of a candlestick/spindle and place in the center of your tray.  Set aside to dry.

Step 4:
Take your middle tray and squeeze glue to the bottom of one candlestick/spindle and place in the center of the top side of the tray.  Squeeze glue to the top of the candlestick/spindle and gently set your last tray on top.  Set aside to dry.

Step 5:
Squeeze glue to adhere knob to the top of the shortest candlestick/spindle.  Once adhered, squeeze glue to the bottom side of the candlestick/spindle and place in the center of the top tray.  Set aside to dry.

Step 6:
Take your largest tray and add glue to the top of the candlestick and gently place the middle and top trays onto the candlestick/spindle.  Set tiered stand aside to dry for 48-72 hours.



Once your tiered tray is completely dry, add holiday decor and desserts.

DIY Tutorial: Halloween Crackers + Free Printable Tags

 

 Yesterday, I shared our Modern Black, White & Chevron Halloween Party with you. Today I have a little Halloween freebie for you from the collection along with a fun tutorial that you can also view on Hostess with the Mostess.  When it came time to create favors for the party, I wanted something that was creative and one that could be enjoyed by children and adults alike.  I decided to create Halloween Crackers that can be filled with your favorite Halloween candy or healthy snacks.  Read on for step-by-step instructions + the free printable: "Happy Halloween" tags below!

Halloween Crackers - A DIY Tutorial

Supplies:

• Crepe or Tissue Paper
• Colored or Patterned Paper
• Scissors
• Scallop Scissors (optional)
• Ribbon and/or twine
• Clear Tape
• Candy Rolls (Lifesavers), Candy Wafers, Crackers etc.
• Free Printable Happy Halloween Tags (Click here to download)

Step by Step Instructions:

1. Cut crepe or tissue paper to 8 x 10 inches in size.

2. Take your roll of candy (or equivalent) and place onto 2 pieces of your cut crepe/tissue paper.

3. Roll paper around and tape to keep in place.

4. Tie ends with ribbon or twine.

5. Cut a piece of paper to desired width to place in the middle of your roll.

6. Cut each side of the paper using your scallop scissors to create a pretty edge.

7. Roll paper around and tape to keep in place.

8. Tape a Happy Halloween tag on top for the perfect touch.
