Hula Girls Adorable Aloha Party Attire

When I originally posted on my blog that I was dreaming of putting together a luau  inspired birthday party for Annabelle and Madeleine, sweet Kristina at Modern Frills contacted me that she would love to create tank tops for the birthday girls.  I was elated to say the least.  I worked with Kristina last year when she designed the most adorable Hello Kitty tank tops for Annabelle and Madeleine's birthday party.  I absolutely fell in love with her creations and have been the biggest fan ever since.

I emailed Kristina the color palette that I was planning to use for the party and she created the most fabulous rosette tanks tops.  The fabrics were so adorable and in the perfect colors for the party!  And with each top that Kristina makes, she adds the cutest signature heart on the back.

Kristina offers unique appliqued birthday shirts, personalized tees with a sweet and modern twist in her Etsy shop HERE.

Every little girl loves their hair accessories especially if you are the guests of honor at a luau party.   Kristina at Looking 4 Lilly created the most stunning hair accessories for the birthday girls.  When they arrived in the mail, they just made me smile from ear to ear.  The clippies were so beautiful and you would have thought that both Kristinas sat side by side creating the products for the girls because they matched perfectly.

Kristina was ever so sweet to make a clippie for me so that I could join in on the fun.

Kristina offers adorable gifts and accessories for girls and ladies including headbands, hair clips, jewelry and more in her Etsy shop HERE.

Aloha Summer Party Details & FREE Printable!

The party decor for the Aloha Summer birthday party didn't start at the dessert table but rather at the front door.  I made a colorful wreath using a Styrofoam ring and placed cocktail umbrellas all around it. Then, I added a matching ribbon and hung it on our front door. The guests were welcomed with leis and hula skirts to wear.

I made hair clips from a flower bouquet I purchased at a dollar store that I added to tree branches I found from our yard which made the perfect centerpiece for our family room.  Girls chose their favorite flower clip to go along with their aloha accessories.

I styled our console table in our foyer by adding a welcome sign to greet the guests and it also served as the place to hold the favors for the party guests.

I placed white frames with pictures of the girls on the table.  Using a flower punch, I punched flowers from papers in the birthday party colors and used "pop stickers" to add them to the frame.  To add a fun touch, I embellished each flower with a piece of candy.

I found beach pails for a dollar each at Michaels that made for the perfect containers to hold the loot for the favors.  The dollar store also had packages of bubbles for a dollar and I thought they would be cute to wrap the bottle wrappers around them from the Aloha printable collection.  At the store, I also found water squirt toys that I placed in the pails.

Included in the favor pails were Christina from Cookies Are My Canvas' beautiful cookies. The favors were adorned with the Aloha Summer favor tags that I made using my favorite craft punch.

Last but not least, I added flowers that I made from tissue paper.  They were super easy to make and they turned out beautifully.  Tutorial coming soon!

Activities for the party consisted of coloring hibiscus flowers and beach themed coloring pages, a paper leis craft station (tutorial coming soon), hula lessons and a tiki piƱata.

I am excited to share with you a free printable from the Aloha Summer birthday party.

Download your free Aloha printable HERE.

The Aloha banner can be cut as squares or cut into circles, add a lollipop stick and ribbon and you can use as a cake topper or table decorations.

Enjoy!

{Party Inspiration} Aloha Summer Celebration

I have been thinking about a theme for Annabelle and Madeleine's birthday party ever since we celebrated their Hello Kitty party that I created for them last year.  I am not kidding when I say that.  So many different ideas have come into my head this past year.  The girls have had their input as well.  Their ideas seemed to change as quickly as the ones that I thought of. Their birthdays are three weeks apart and we decided to have another joint party for them this year.

Annabelle is starting Kindergarten in a few short months (I CANNOT believe it!  Where has the time gone??) I want to incorporate their favorite colors.  Warm and inviting colors of yellow, orange and fuchsia.  A color palette that cheers for celebration!

When I came across this picture of these gorgeous hibiscus flowers created by Diane of DK Designs, I fell in LOVE.  It has become the focal point when looking for ideas for the birthday party.
