What's Your Color?

One of my favorite stores as you know is Paper Source.  It's one of my favorite places to go for crafty inspiration.  As I was leaving the store, a rainbow of colors caught my eye.  I had just stumbled across a Colorscope.  When creating new designs for the shop, one of the first things I do is sit down to decide what color palette to use. Sometimes, it is easy and other times I need to look to my favorite sources for inspiration.  I was so happy to find Paper Source's Colorscope.

What is a Colorscope:  It's about coordinating colors and then learning how those colors match your personality.

Your favorite color(s) can indeed reveal something interesting about yourself.

Try it, pick out your two favorite colors (mine, at the moment are Pool and Blossom) and read what they tell about yourself.  It's so fun to see how colors work well together but I am amazed at how my favorite colors can speak to who I am as a person.

How fun would it be to pull out the Colorscope at your next event?  Who knows... perhaps you might be a matchmaker!

Paper Source - How I Love Thee

Last year for my birthday, my husband planned a trip for us to San Francisco.  One of the places that I couldn't wait to go visit was a store called Paper Source.  You can see my visit HERE.  If you love all things paper, you will LOVE Paper Source.  It is a unique retailer filled with specialty paper, custom invitations, gift wrap, craft supplies and so many other products to inspire creativity!

I have wished and wished that Paper Source would open a location in Austin, TX.  My wish came true recently and one of their newest stores is just minutes from my home.  I was ecstatic to say the least when I heard the news!

On Friday when both of my girls were in school (a rare occasion for a Friday), I had the afternoon to myself and decided to make the awaited trip to the new Paper Source store.  I think when you see my pictures, you can see why one could easily fall in love with all of their pretty products and find inspiration in every inch of their stores.

How fabulous is this glimmer wrapping paper?

Loving this sparkle paper.

Flowers made from their paper flowers kits.

Beautiful inspiration board

Fun crafts for kids.

How fun are these paper flowers? They would be the perfect addition for parties! This Party Starburst Kit can be found here.

My trip to San Francisco!!!

My husband surprised me with a trip to San Francisco for my birthday! It is one of my favorite places to visit. Each time we go, I seem to fall in love with the city more and more! My first time there was for a few days for a second honeymoon that we took and I always am looking forward to going back to visit. We have been very lucky that with each visit, we have had beautiful weather. We arrived on Friday and and left Monday. We did lots of walking, enjoyed a full day of biking which included riding over the Golden Gate Bridge and riding into Sausalito. With traveling by foot and bike, I was able to stop at many stores that I have been wanting to go to including Paper Source, Union Street Papery and lots of cute cupcake shops! Here are a few pictures from the trip!

I love all of the fresh flower stands. Peonies are my favorite!

Visiting Susie Cakes for some cupcake eye candy. It is no wonder it is one of Martha Stewart's favorite cake shops! They had delicious red velvet cupcake samples to try.

On one side of the store you had the cupcakes and on the other side the cutest stationery.

Kara's Cupcakes had adorable Thanksgiving mini cupcakes greeting you as you entered. They had a great variety of traditional and filled cupcakes to choose from.

I loved Union Street Papery. They had a great selection of paper products including ribbons, papers and gifts!

How cute is this girly themed invite with the sparkly purse!

I could not wait to go to Paper Source. We don't have a store location close to us and I have been anxiously waiting to go to this store. I already loved all of their products from their website but seeing everything in person was like a little kid in a candy store. I could have stayed all day!

Aren't these inspiration boards beautiful??

Paper flowers! Gorgeous!

Our last cupcake stop was to American Cupcake. These cupcakes are amazing!
Some of the cutest cupcakes I have ever seen!

We had an amazing time and I can't wait to go back!
